(Here is what I imagine might have been heard if today was 1969 here in Olympia but with all the issues of today tossed into the Word Salad. )
Its called
“Olympia – Oh L Why.”
Olympia! Oh L Why?
Why are the hungry on the streets?
Not lying between the sheets with freedom in comfort.
Oh!
The capitol, driven in derision from your “Center of Captial-ism”,
A spasm of pain,
Writhing in the game,
The politicians play but don’t want to be named,
As a failure of the poor people’s campaign.
Oh!
The L,
What the hell?
The businesses just want to sell,
Not deal with the homeless smell,
That they are driving to a greater swell,
Cause minimum wage is all they will shell,
Medical and dental treatment for Opioid?
You are calling out into a void,
Avoiding.
Eye contact and discussion of solution.
Oh! L!
Y?
Oh hell why?
Why ask not, take your pot,
Be happy and free to fail, but beg not or go to jail,
The workers of the collective bargain,
Do not want to see you begging.
Don’t shoot! Up in the streets,
And make your camps and protests neat.
You can kneel in your church just not at the Seahawks game,
In Washington, the state, we exclaim,
We are liberal but not insane,
A touch of the social, but mostly in name.
Where can you put all the blame?
Olympia!
Capitol!
OH! L! Y!
